GPS+Beidou Dual-Mode Positioning Enhances Accuracy and Reliability of Vehicle Location Services

As connected vehicle applications continue to expand, the accuracy and reliability of vehicle positioning services have become increasingly critical. GPS+Beidou dual-mode positioning technology achieves superior performance by simultaneously receiving signals from both the U.S. GPS and China's Beidou satellite navigation systems, providing more precise and dependable technical support for vehicle location services.

Compared to single-system GPS positioning, dual-mode technology offers distinct advantages. First, by leveraging signals from a larger constellation of satellites simultaneously, dual-mode receivers maintain better accuracy and continuous positioning capability in signal-obstructed environments such as urban canyons, tunnel entrances, and dense high-rise areas. Second, the Beidou system provides stronger satellite coverage across the Asia-Pacific region; when combined with GPS, it significantly improves positioning accuracy — reaching meter-level precision in open areas and sub-meter accuracy in certain scenarios.

Today, GPS+Beidou dual-mode positioning modules are widely integrated into connected vehicle devices including in-vehicle navigation terminals, GPS trackers, and T-BOX units. Combined with integrated positioning technologies such as Assisted GPS (A-GPS), Dead Reckoning (DR), and Map Matching (MM), the system delivers continuous high-precision positioning even in complex urban environments — providing robust technical support for applications including vehicle navigation, fleet management, logistics tracking, and anti-theft alarms.
